The Workplace Wellbeing Charter takes a holistic approach including leadership, culture and communication in businesses, alongside health and wellbeing topics like physical activity, alcohol and mental health. Appreciating People was assessed to demonstrate our commitment to leadership, absence management, health and safety, alcohol and substance misuse, smoking, mental health, healthy eating and physical activity. The Charter also promotes discussions between employers and employees about health, safety and wellbeing.
Alongside the full suite of ISO standards we’ve gained, AP is keen to recognise the contribution and importance of every member of our team, and their capacity to suggest ideas, develop new areas of work and support our continued growth and reputation. Our assessor commented: ‘All those interviewed expressed how much they appreciate their job and role. They all spoke highly of the organisation and how well supported they are; but more importantly, how appreciated they felt. This indicates that Appreciating People values their employees and understands that the employees are the biggest asset of the organisation.’
Suzanne Quinney, AP co-director, said: ‘It was very valuable for our organisation to go through this review process. The Health at Work staff were well informed and understood how we worked, and shared up-to-date developments with us which will enhance our own structures and processes. We were delighted to receive this accreditation for the second time as it is a tangible demonstration of our commitment to wellbeing at work, which is something we are passionate about sharing in our training with other organisations and teams.‘
