A Taste of AI training

Appreciative Inquiry training – Tuesday 18th Nov 9.30-4.00: facilitated by Suzanne Quinney & Tim Slack, Appreciating People

Venue: Unitarian Church library, Ullet Road,Liverpool L17 2AA

Aim of the Workshop

This one-day workshop is an opportunity for an experiential introduction to Appreciative Inquiry (AI). The programme includes an introduction to the key elements and principles of AI, strength-based working and how we integrate Positive Psychology into the approach. We’ll share some examples of its application, including Appreciative Coaching and its use in working with teams.

Appreciative Inquiry is a strength-based organisational development approach, but has a number of other applications – it’s extremely interactive, with experiential learning at its core. It uses the power of story, enhances conversations and engagement at all levels and can be applied in virtually any context. There will be an opportunity to discuss the approach and its relevance to your own work/practice. There will be a number of interactive sessions and small group sessions.

If you’re interested in the AI discipline, you’ll find more information about AI and its application elsewhere on our site and can you read some case studies here.

We’ve also recently produced a paper for Housing Care and Support Journal on Organisational development, appreciative inquiry and the development of Psychologically Informed Environments (PIEs) Part One: a positive psychology approach. View the abstract here…

You can also watch a short film about working with homeless hostel residents in a positive and strength-focused way, using Appreciative Inquiry to build resilience in service users, here.

We have produced a range of specialised AI training materials and interested potential participants can buy a copy of our appreciative journal – Food for Thought for half price – £6 plus P&P. Contact suzanne@appreciatingpeople.co.uk. You can also download a copy of What is Appreciative Journaling from our resources section.
