We thought the keen golfers amongst you might be interested in this Fairway to Heaven programme – which cleverly combines personal development with what some might call ‘a good walk ruined…’ Run by our friends and colleagues at SpiritualGolf.com, the purpose of the week-long course on some of Scotland’s finest courses is to expand our mastery and enjoyment of the game, at whatever level we play.
Joan Shafer, who runs the course, says ‘Ultimately, the way we play golf, like any other sport, is about our relationship to ourselves – seeking to enhance our understanding of life and reaching our potential. Throughout the week, we learn about the “inner game” – gaining insight into our playing strengths that ultimately bring us to our desired level. The “inner game” is about what goes on beneath the surface – our mental and emotional states not visible to someone watching. Often we may not be aware of them ourselves. Paying clear attention to our “inner states” and external surroundings help us play more rewarding golf.‘
The week includes – a stay at the Piersland House Hotel. This is an incredibly beautiful and charming boutique hotel with stunning floral gardens located exactly across the street from Royal Troon. Each person will have his or her own private room and bath, unless you want to share. The food there is stunning and their meeting rooms are fabulous, plus golf at:
- Royal Troon (both courses)
- Western Gailes
- Kilmarnock Barassie
All of these courses are 5-star and are or have been venues for the British Open, the British Senior Open, the British Amateur, or the Scottish Amateur. On the Wednesday of that week (free day), we will make arrangements for people who want to play Machrihanish (a speed boat ride across the firth) or Turnberry (Aisla or Kintyre courses) or wherever else you might want to play.
The course runs from May 26 – June 2, 2012 – 20 places maximum on a first-come / first-register basis. You can download the Fairway to Heaven programme here for more details…
