Appreciating People has been working with local start-up support organisation ELECT to get local budding entrepreneurs thinking about how they can fulfil their business and lifestyle aspirations.
Reflect and Renew: Time for You takes place on January 14 at Liverpool Hope University with trained coaches Suzanne Quinney and Helen Bush. AP has worked with ELECT and Liverpool Chamber on publicity to attract budding business people. You can see the article on Liverpool Chamber’s website here.
The workshop has attracted attention both online and in the Daily Post, where Suzanne was quoted saying: ‘Take some time our and give yourself a chance to reflect, renew, relax and re-vision for the New Year. Our workshop will use a mixture of coaching techniques.’
Both Suzanne and Helen have been working with Janine Hyland, social enterprise manager at ELECT, who said: ‘The strength-based approach when applied to personal and career development works especially well with this female focused workshop; it addresses a fundamental issue that women have a tendency to self limit their true potential by being too modest and undervaluing their strengths and abilities.
‘Research has shown that around just a quarter of self employed businesses are run by women. Liverpool Vision recently made a call to action for women to get involved in the city’s Festival of Entrepreneurship in March on the back of this, and there is a clear and visible push to get more women into self-employment. Workshops such as this are a great first step on the path into business.’
